Currently I am the Director of Creative Services at UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County). I design and art direct many of the University’s high-profile print and web pieces and am responsible for supervising the design, photography, and production staff.
Print - Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXpress, and MS Office on both Mac and PC platforms.
Interactive - Proficient in HTML and CSS. Experience with jQuery, JavaScript, Tumult Hype, Bootstrap, Final Cut Pro X, WordPress, Smart Site CMS, iModules, MailChimp, Emma, Dreamweaver, PHP, and XHTML.
Design and art direct the University’s high-profile print and online pieces (including the award-winning UMBC Magazine). Under my leadership the studio has won 26 national and regional design awards. Responsible for supervising the design, web developmet, photography, and production staff. Recruited employees for five positions. Helped to maintain an archival system to easily track and retrieve projects. Arranged educational tours of local printers and enrolled staff in design-related classes for professional development.
Taught an intro to Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator CC class (CMAT 212: Computer Graphics: Imaging). Co-taught the same class in the Spring of 2014 as part of my practicum work in my M.F.A. program.
Print Duties: Designed high-profile institutional brochures, posters, programs, invitations, folders, mailers, catalogs, and logos. Followed each project from conception to delivery. Teamed with content developers to creatively meet the needs of a wide assortment of university clients.
Web Duties: Maintained UMBC’s web site. Implemented a university-wide content management system. Developed new web sites for Undergraduate Admissions, The Graduate School, and the 2000-2001 Annual Report.

University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Chairman Orlan M. Johnson and USM Chancellor William E. Kirwan honored winners of the 2011 USM Regents' Staff Awards during today's board meeting at the University of Maryland University College. The awards recognize staff members who have made exceptional contributions to their organizations, students and the university community. Award winners are selected based on nominations and letters of support from colleagues, culminating in a formal recommendation from the Council of University System Staff, which provides non-faculty USM employees with a voice in system governance.

UMBC creative services has received Inhouse Design Awards from Graphic Design USA for the Undergraduate Viewbook (2009 and 2011), and UMBC Magazine (2010 & 2011).
